My name is Emory Beck. I’m from Wellington, New Zealand. I have a BSc in Geology, a Geography minor and a Certificate of Proficiency in GIS, from Victoria University of Wellington.

My current role is a GIS Analyst and involves working closely with LiDAR data. My passion is turning this data into visualisations, showcasing the beauty of landscapes and data.

The open source datasets I mainly use can be found via:

  1. LINZ Data Service

  2. OpenTopography

The open source software I use:

  1. QGIS

  2. Blender

  3. GIMP

  4. AerialOD

  5. Inkscape

I plan to add tutorials on how to produce some of these visualisations, and on other skills I’ve picked up over the years. I will also continue to add content to this site so please stay tuned.

This is an ongoing hobby of mine. Who knows how this will evolve. I hope you like what you see.
